Sida

SIDAOur first agreement of co-operation was signed with Sida in 2005. In April 2010 we signed a new five year agreement for the duration of Phase II. Below is an extract from their website:

How Sweden and Sida work on international development co-operation:
“The overall goal of Swedish development co-operation is to contribute to making it possible for poor people to improve their living conditions. By reducing injustices and poverty throughout the world, better opportunities are created for development, peace and security for all people and nations. In an increasingly globalised world we are all dependent on, and affected by, each other.”

Here is an extract of what Sida said about us:

“HRDI represents an ambitious, much needed, but challenging initiative, where extended development of Clinical Legal Education will be used to help combat discrimination in the context of HIV/AIDS and expand competence in the legal profession to deal with HIV and AIDS.” (HIV/AIDS 1993/2005)

Danida

DANIDAOur second agreement of co-operation was signed with Danida in 2006. HRDI is grateful for Danida's contributions during Phase I. However, due to a change in development focus they were unable to stay with us through Phase II. Below is an extract from their website.

Strategy for Denmark’s support to the International Fight against HIV/AIDS:
“HIV/AIDS will remain a strategic priority for Denmark’s development co-operation in the years to come. Based on the priorities for Danish development co-operation 2005-2008, “Security, growth and development”, Denmark is committed to strengthening her efforts to fight HIV/AIDS, with special focus on Africa south of the Sahara.”
